Life Revision Course

Journeying through Life’s Transitions

4 – 12 August 2016

About this Year’s Life Revision Course

For many of us, life tends to fly past at an alarming rate, giving us little chance to take stock of where we are going, never mind how we are going. It often seems as though we are rushing headlong into the next decade without being at all sure of what actually happened in this one. Along the way it may become clear to us that what fitted our lives ten or fifteen years ago, no longer fits so well. In those intervening years, life has produced various changes for us – more children, or children leaving home, retrenchment, divorce, bereavement, relocation or emigration of a family member, a changing relationship with God etc. Sometimes we are carrying the burdens of unfinished business from the past which need to be addressed.

The opportunity now presents itself to look at some of the unrealised potential we have within ourselves. Jim Johnston, from Pietermaritzburg, has for 15 years run the Life Revision Course in which, as the name suggests, these and other issues in the lives of the participants are reflected on and addressed.

In re-visioning authentic Christian living, we review our ways of; learning and where we need to unlearn bad patterns; handling stress; overcoming our driven-ness; communicating and relating; and our attitudes to the society in which we live. We reflect on issues such as our patterns of faith, the formation of our convictions, law and grace at work in our lives, and our relationship to God, others and creation. Themes addressed are accompanied by Christian meditative prayer, Biblical teaching, and exercises.

If you are interested in attending the course, please do not hesitate to contact us. Should you know of others who might be interested in coming, please forward this information to them.
